Red Sorghum
Aroview: A love story set among village winemakers who fight back against Japanese marauders in 1930's China. Blackly humorous and agonisingly horrific, this rural epic is a masterful blend of style and substance.

3 stars (Good Enough) Gong Li falling for a smelly meat head peasant with jug handles for ears didn't really gel.The scenes are episodic rather than flowing together but some, particularly in the early parts of the film, are beautifully photographed. ~Tubbs
