Aroview: The true story of a disillusioned Orthodox Jew who turns to Ecstasy dealing is given an underwhelming treatment in this otherwise fascinating glimpse into the world of Hasidic faith and creative drug dealing.

Jesse Eisenberg is perfectly cast as the spiritually troubled protagonist, though too often the film fails to explore the culture clash between religious and criminal realms, instead settling for a simplistic rise-and-fall narrative trajectory.
