Within the Whirlwind
Aroview: The memoirs of Eugenia Ginzburg, a Russian academic sentenced to ten years labor in a Siberian Gulag, are brought to life in this harrowing account of life under Stalin. Despairing stuff, and its detailed recreation of prison life feels all too authentic, and the gradual romance between Watson and Tukur is touchingly performed.

2 stars (Good Try) Screenplays based on the actions of idiotic regimes can be frustrating, for those looking in from the outside, to watch. You are thinking how can they be so stupid? and believability is at risk no matter what the truth. ~Tubbs
