Lincoln Lawyer, The
Aroview: Matthew McConaughey plays a low-rent lawyer to low-life clients whose latest case – the defense of a rich playboy (Phillippe) accused of rape and murder – may not be as cut and dry as it first seems.
Solid courtroom drama doesn’t deviate from the norm in its lurching plot and ethical shades of gray, however is a highly watchable and well-rounded yarn perfectly adapted to McConaughey’s greasy, wise-ass persona.

2 stars (Good Try) two hours is too long for a film in which there are no characters to empathize with. ~Tubbs
3 stars (Good Enough) Pretty lazy scriptwise, and McC is a 'knacktor' (is much going on behind the drawl & swagger?), but watchable.Good supporting cast (including Michael Pare's neck). The film's weakness is its refusal to let you find Mick unlikeable. ~HiFi
