Conspirator, The

Aroview: Timely retelling of the aftermath of the Abraham Lincoln's assassination when boardinghouse owner Mary Surratt (Wright) was placed on trial for conspiring to kill the president.

Redford perhaps labours too much in evoking parallels with modern times and at times this overtness threatens to bog the film down. However the films fidelity to historical record is to be admired, and a fine company of actors help breathe life into the pic.
