Killing, The - Series 1 (TV Series)
Aroview: A ripping Danish homicide serial in the long-form tradition of THE WIRE, which weaves a plot of intrigue, corruption, and bureaucracy around a brutal rape and murder investigated by Copenhagen detectives over the course of twenty days.
Recommended for Stieg Larsson fans and crime TV aficionados alike, this is also notable for its fierce female characterization and exemplary execution of 'Nordic Noir' - all the rage right now, it would seem.
Series One: 20 episodes across six discs.

3 stars (Good Enough) The world loves this, so I'm probably crazy to think that if you strip away the exotic language and locale you have a tedious, cliched crime drama that's structured like an Agatha Christie novel. Me, I'm off to check out 'The Shadow Line'. ~HiFi
2 stars (Good Try) Excellent start but then the writers included so many red herrings in the plot that I took it as an insult - the writers didn't want it to finish - reminds me of a soap. However some good miserable and bleak location shots and excellent theme music. ~Tubbs
4 stars (Very Good) very good ~Milana
