Big Year, The

Aroview: Light-as-a-feather comedy of competitive bird watching, with three fanatical bird-spotters vying to sight the highest number of species over the course of a year.

Given the innocuousness of the recreational pursuit, the absence of rude and crude punchlines is a welcome respite, while the peculiarity of the subject lends a certain eccentricity to proceedings befitting of Jack Black's kooky screen persona, as well as Owen Wilson's Wes Anderson connections.
