Unexceptional by Samuel Fuller's usual standards - he was hired solely to test Cinemascope in confined spaces - this is still a brisk, ably directed exercise in suspense, with Widmark finely essaying another ambiguous anti-hero.

2 stars (Good Try) Having a woman on a sub is just silly distraction. The sub looked spacious at times - it needed to be as most of the crew were smoking.The odd good moment. ~Tubbs
