Girls - Season 1 (TV Series)
Aroview: Following her "mumblecore" hit TINY FURNITURE, wunderkind Lena Dunham's breakthrough into television (with the help of kingpin Judd Apatow) heralds a new kind of sitcom in an era saturated by male-centric comedies and gross-out/sexist narratives.
Refurbishing the now-outdated SEX AND THE CITY model for a younger generation of independent females, this savvy series on the highs and lows of living and dating in New York is at once witty, shallow, unflattering, sexually frank, and very, very funny.
Season One: 10 episodes across two discs.

5 stars (Exceptional) I thought this would be all hip gab and zeitgeist schtick but was surprised by the real tenderness and generosity towards the characters. Wonderfully written, directed and performed. Genius, obvy. ~HiFi
3 stars (Good Enough) Watchable but noisy. Tries to shock the audience a few too many times. ~Tubbs
