Only God Forgives
Synopsis: Nicolas Winding Refn and Ryan Gosling reunite for this violent, hypnotic revenge saga set in the belly of Thailand's criminal underworld.
“Experimental and uncompromising, Winding Refn and Gosling's 'Drive' follow-up is a tripped-out riff on the crime family movie in which The Grifters - literally - go to hell.”~Empire

2 stars (Good Try) Only God forgives - the audience does not. ~smithee
1 star (Turkey) Refn's cinematography and soundtrack work atmospheric wonders, again, but the story is just sophomoric sadism draped in would-be spiritual angst. Sick, hollow, and pretentious: there's no soul here to forgive. ~fairbrother
4 stars (Very Good) Gorgeously shot and set in a parallel hyper violent universe near Refn's crocodile brain. Not for the fans of Drive. Pusher Trilogy or Valhalla Rising are more similar works ~bikewrench
