Wrong
Aroview: In this follow-up to the cult horror RUBBER, dir. Quentin Dupieux refines his unique storytelling craft with this beguiling comedy of the absurd about a man whose beloved dog is mysteriously kidnapped.
Where the previous film originated as (and felt like) a short film padded out to feature length, this threads a more satisfying narrative through its series of non-sequiturs and visual set pieces, boosted by some engagingly off-beat performances and the hangdog charisma of lead actor, Jack Plotnick. It may be a head-scratching ordeal for some, but fans of fellow Gallic surrealists Michel Gondry and Jean-Pierre Juenet can't go wrong with this self-described "non-film".
