Muscle Shoals
“Joyous, uplifting - and as funky as the music at its heart.”~The Telegraph
Aroview: A marvellous and comprehensive celebration of Muscle Shoals, Alabama, the unlikely birthplace and subsequent epicentre of some of America's most creative and defiant music, and the founder of its iconic FAME Studios, Rick Hall.
The original Muscle Shoals backing band also tell their side of the story with contributions also from famous faces; Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Aretha Franklin, Percy Sledge, Wilson Pickett, Clarence Carter, Steve Winwood, Gregg Allman, Atlantic Records' Jerry Wexler, and, of course, Bono.

5 stars (Exceptional) Great movie about producing music in the rural south. As with Standing in the Shadows of Motown, unknown white session musicians helped the great black singers to make hits. How Etta James & Aretha Franklin's songs were created is especially interesting. ~Sandy
