“Shooting in 35mm, Franz and Fiala have dreamt up a home-invasion scenario where the aggressors lived there all along. ”~Variety
Aroview: A sleek, uncompromising psycho-thriller from the Michael Haneke school of Austrian austerity centred around twin boys whose perception of their mother takes a disturbing turn after her recuperation from a car accident.
The modernist production design will delight aesthetes, and the tension control is similarly textbook though the revelations in the third act step into an extreme that will likely alienate all but ardent horror-philes.

2 stars (Good Try) You can see exactly where it's headed right from the first shot - so the "mystery and suspense" are mostly frustrating and, once it becomes outright horror, it's so cold it numbs instead of chilling. Worth it if you have the taste for Artsploitation. ~fairbrother
3 stars (Good Enough) If it had shown a bit more restraint by having fewer torture scenes it would have been a better film. Having said that the plot idea is worthy of attention. ~Tubbs
