Swallows and Amazons
“Soaring landscapes, old-school DIY adventure and some sweet performances by the child actors makes for a charmingly old-fashioned family adventure.”~Time Out London
Aroview: Based on the 1974 film that was in turn adapted from the series of 1930's children's novels by Arthur Ransome, this reprise retains the setting and spirit of between-the-wars innocence and wide-eyed wonder.
The upstanding adventures begin when a group of four children (known as the Swallows) sail on their own to an island and start a war with rival children (the Amazons) while on holiday in the lake district. For an added sense of danger, a mysterious man on a houseboat accuses them of a crime they did not commit.
