2 stars (Good Try) Elizabeth McGovern is solid but the screenplay doesn't really grab your attention nor anything else for that matter. ~Tubbs
4 stars (Very Good) Much more than just froth! Norma Carlisle (Elizabeth McGovern)-the "Chaperone"-is complex, subtle & unexpectedly convincing. Louise Brooks' character is interesting & progressive. An interesting film about women's lives-privileged, but unhappy. ~Sandy
