Human Condition, The
“Kobayashi's monumental film can clarify and enrich your understanding of what it is to be alive.”~A.O. Scott, New York Times
Aroview: An epic Japanese film trilogy following the life of a well-intentioned yet naïve pacifist and socialist as he tries to survive in the totalitarian and oppressive world of World War II-era Japan.
The three parts; "No Greater Love", "Road to Eternity" and "A Soldier's Prayer" depict his transitioning from labour camp supervisor to Imperial Army soldier and eventual Soviet prisoner-of-war. Based on the six-volume novel published from 1956 to 1958 by Junpei Gomikawa.
