Queen & Slim
“Queen & Slim is an extraordinary Black Odyssey; a film whose tracks reverberate with echoes of the underground railroad.”~Robert Daniels, The Playlist
Aroview: An African American couple's first date is interrupted when they kill a cop in self-defence and go on the run to avoid prison. A brilliantly multi-dimensional love story channeling 70s blaxploitation cinema and road movies of old, with powerful lead performances from Daniel Kaluuya and Jodie Turner-Smith.

5 stars (Exceptional) A moving story relevant to the BLM movement. Witty & interesting with great songs and atmosphere. Sharp dialogue faintly reminiscent of the classic In the Heat of the Night, but right up to date. Strongly recommended ~Sandy
2 stars (Good Try) There are some good segments but they are too far spread out - a more compact screenplay would have helped. ~Tubbs
