“A well-observed film which sensitively explores the middle-aged female experience, something that's rarely portrayed with such authenticity on the big screen.”~Nikki Baughan, The List
Aroview: A warm hearted comedy set in Derry in Northern Ireland, with Bronagh Gallagher in a deserved lead role as a free spirited mother in her 40's who unexpectedly discovers she is pregnant.
Having already had a daughter who is now in high school, the story explores the clashing sensibilities between this rambunctious, single woman and her buttoned up teenage daughter (Lola Pettigrew), who is insecure with the news of an impending half sibling. A low-budget, utterly uncliched film with strong messages about society's judgement of woman for their imperfect behaviour, and an authentic mother daughter relationship at it's heart.

4 stars (Very Good) Not a topic often filmed. Great film on the mysteries & complexities of birth & family. Great camera angles & very well-paced. Increasingly moving. Needs subtitles for the hard of hearing, like me. Lola Petticrew is also extremely good; subtle. ~Anon
