Laughing Policeman, The

Aroview: Police procedural loosely based on the Swedish novel of the same name, set in the aftermath of a horrific shootout on a public bus.

A detective (Walter Matthau) whose partner died in the incident, becomes obsessed with tracking down the person responsible, and goes increasingly rogue with new partner Bruce Dern. Translated from its original Swedish setting to San Francisco, this manhunt actioner has little new to add, but boasts some classic BULLITT and DIRTY HARRY vibes.
