“The pacing is deliberate but this cool approach serves only to magnify the distressing insights into a dangerous world in which lawless fanatics have assumed control.”~David Stratton, The Australian
Aroview: A 13-part exploration of the conflict between Ukraine and the Russian-supported Donetsk People's Republic throughout the mid-2010's, considered Europe's "forgotten war".
At times eerily familiar in it's presentation of a Ukraine destabalised by "fake news" and propaganda, this is a vivid and at times brutal depiction of the war, but shot through with cynical black humour. Winner of the Un Certain Regard award for Best Director at Cannes 2018.

4 stars (Very Good) By presenting the drama in episodes the filmmaker had more flexibility and was able to use a wide range of emotions ranging from comical to distasteful. ~Tubbs
1 star (Turkey) Confusing and very depressing. The 'humour' in it had no appeal for me ~Anon
