Dream Horse
“We can see every plot point rounding the turn long before the finish line, but that’s OK, because we’re having a (dare I say it) jolly grand time every step of the way.”~Chicago Sun-Times
Aroview: Another feel-good movie about an unlikely race horse, this one is elevated enormously by the always excellent Toni Colette, who plays Jan Vokes, a Welsh bartender whose horse goes on to win the Welsh Grand National.
Based on a true story of the horse named Dream Alliance, who was raised in humble conditions in South Wales and owned by The Alliance Partnership, a group of Vokes' friends and supporters who each pitched in 10 pounds a week for the horse's training and upkeep. A powerful, if predictable, rags-to-riches story.
