First Cow
“It is a tremendously engaging story which does something that very few movies do: mention money. Something very palpable is at stake, the jeopardy is real and it’s a question of survival.”~Peter Bradshaw, The Guardian

4 stars (Very Good) The design work for the time and place looks to be spot on as is the pacing of the screenplay. The terrific soundtrack is used sparingly but intelligently. ~Tubbs
5 stars (Exceptional) A real slow-burner! But it never flags for an instant. The fur-trappers live with Indians in the Oregon forest, captured beautifully. The movie is very quiet, but gripping. It's wonderfully simple -but totally unique! ~Anon
