Aroview: An intense yet clear-eyed psychological drama from accomplished director Justin Kurzel (TRUE HISTORY OF THE KELLY GANG) depicting the events that lead up to the 1996 Port Arthur massacre in Tasmania.

An atrocity that darkened Australia's history and prompted an overhaul of the nation's gun control laws, the perpetrator (Caleb Landry-Jones in another outstanding performance) was a mentally unstable and isolated man whose resentment and anger towards society resulted in the murder of 35 people in the busy tourist area of Port Arthur. A powerful film which bravely explores the ethical implications of this tragic event while respecting the dignity of the victims.

3 stars (Good Enough) The screenplay has a slow build up that culminates in an equally slow but impressive (anti)climax. A very good performance from Caleb Landry Jones to compliment the always great Judy Davis. ~Tubbs
