“The beauty of Zach Baylin’s script is that while the arc is familiar, hardly a single detail could be described as clichéd, seeing as how the specifics are virtually unprecedented.”~Peter Debruge, Variety
Aroview: A quality biopic based on the incredible true story of Richard Williams, an undeterred father who was instrumental in raising Venus and Serena Williams, two of the most extraordinarily gifted athletes of all time.
Explores the childhood of the sisters in in Compton, California, where their dad (Will Smith) works tirelessly to help build them into professional tennis players, accurately predicting that they would eventually join the greatest players in tennis history. A thoroughly absorbing drama which deftly explores themes of race, class, sports culture and celebrity.

2 stars (Good Try) The court re-enactments were well done. The strongest point of "Venus and Serena" (2012) was the bonding between the sisters - this dramatisation includes their three half-sisters & the family bonding was obviously a great springboard for their careers. ~Tubbs
4 stars (Very Good) Terrific acting by Saniyya Sidney & Demi Singleton & their tennis-playing doubles. Will Smith convincing in this serious role; not easy to play without being heroic or cloying. But we don't discover the contents of the famous "78-page plans". Gripping. ~Anon
