Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, The
Synopsis: Creatively unfulfilled and facing financial ruin, the fictionalized version of Cage must accept a $1 million offer to attend the birthday of a dangerous superfan (Pedro Pascal). Things take a wildly unexpected turn when Cage is recruited by a CIA operative (Tiffany Haddish) and forced to live up to his own legend, channeling his most iconic and beloved on-screen characters in order to save himself and his loved ones.
“A crowd-pleasing triumph that reminds audiences that he’s always been — no matter the part, no matter the reviews — a star who makes the movies infinitely better just by being him.”~Robert Daniels, The Playlist
Aroview: A doozy of an action-comedy in which Nicolas Cage plays a version of himself as a famous actor who is forced into real-life espionage.
It more than delivers on the promise of a Nicolas Cage self-parody movie, with this beloved cult figure proving his 58-year-old self still retains some of the magic he brought to the likes of ‘Raising Arizona’ and ‘Moonstruck’, with his younger self returning in the new film, courtesy of some CGI wizardry, in a hilarious cameo.
