Synopsis: British television film set in the West Country during the Monmouth Rebellion in 1685 (though actually filmed in Scotland). John Kidd seeks to avenge the death of his father at the hands of the Doones, a family of land-grabbing outlaws. However, he falls in love with the daughter of the same family, Lorna Doone. Based on the 1869 novel by R. D. Blackmore.
