Late Mathias Pascal, The

Synopsis: A French silent film, based on the novel by Luigi Pirandello. Russian actor Ivan Mosjoukine stars as Mathias, an assistant librarian from a once-wealthy family who have fallen into ruin. He enters into a marriage with Romilde, only to deal with an insufferable mother-in-law and the death of his mother and daughter. He then impulsively moves to Monto Carlo, where he encounters further episodes of both good and bad fortune.
