Planet Earth III
Aroview: This 8 part continuation of BBC's unparalelled Panet Earth Series boasts wild flora and fauna captured (once again) with the most state-of-the-art camera technology.
Tiny frogs, crabs and ants are now presented in beautiful detail never before seen. Rare arctic wolves, thieving apes and even whistling dogs are filmed unobtrusively by tiny electric drones. This allows their obscure methods of parenting and hunting to be seen for the first time.
The inevitable messaging about deforestation, overfishing, and global warming remain relevant and (mostly) bearable... until the self-congratulatory epilogue titled "Heroes". Attenborough chooses then to shift focus away from the animals, and instead celebrate the conservation efforts of a handful of 20-something influencers. While this may prove valuable and inspiring to younger viewers, One could be forgiven for stopping after episode 7.
