Sunset Boulevard
Aroview: Faded screen vamp Gloria Swanson and screenwriter William Holden exploit each other mercilessly in this searing dissection of Hollywood decadence, that still retains every ounce of cynicism and entertainment value.

4 stars (Very Good) ~normfilmbuff
5 stars (Exceptional) Very modern in its pitch-black humour and cynical view of humanity. The cinematography and design perfectly evoke an atmosphere of decay. Stunningly written and performed, it's one of Wilder's best and a personal favourite. ~HiFi
4 stars (Very Good) The opening scene is memorable but the final scene is even better. In between the screenplay is laced with humor that is often caustic. Considering the reaction the film was likely to create it was a brave film to make. ~Tubbs
