Dolores Claiborne
Aroview: After MISERY, this non-supernatural Stephen King adaptation displays yet another facet of Kathy Bates multiple screen personas - here she even upstages revered co-star Jennifer Jason Leigh. Imaginative direction and cinematography also contribute strongly to a satisfying gothic melodrama about skeletons in the domestic closet.

4 stars (Very Good) Dolores is a complex character, and as her relationship with her daughter unfolds she becomes even more intriguing. An excellent mystery/drama with twists and turns that definitely keeps you guessing. ~GenXGirl
3 stars (Good Enough) The story telling is unnecessarily convoluted but the highlight is the sparring matches Kathy has with the rest of the talented cast - she has a different look for each of them & its a master class. Ellen Muth does well as the vulnerable younger Jennifer. ~Tubbs
