Mr. Hulot's Holiday
Aroview: Jacques Tati fine-tunes the virtues of JOUR DE FETE to create his most eponymous character. The first of four Hulot features follows the accident-prone bachelor to a resort town where he creates priceless havoc.

4 stars (Very Good) A very funny classic. Softer than its American contemporaries. Much loved, especially in France. ~Sandy
4 stars (Very Good) Something really special. The humour is mild - mostly you'd smile rather than laugh - but the craft & warmth are extraordinary. Hard to imagine a more charming film. ~Toby Dammit
5 stars (Exceptional) As with Keaton, Tati is the master of the visual comedy with little dialogue required - he uses all the screen - don't just watch what is happening in front of you - keep an eye on the background characters as well. ~Tubbs
