Scarlet Street
Aroview: One of dir. Fritz Lang's best American film noirs, salts a slightly bizzare plot with pinches of cruelty and sexual repression. Edward G Robinson plays a henpecked clerk (and naïve painter by night) who's repeatedly put through the emotional wringer by tacky femme-fatale Joan Bennett and her sociopathic boyfriend.
