Oscar and Lucinda
Aroview: The Booker Prize-winning novel, by Australian literary wunderkind Peter Carey, is spun out into a sunlit daydream of unlikely personages and wayward happenings. Ralph Fiennes is gloriously addled as a 19th century dandy, 'madly' splashing his winnings on transporting a glass cathedral into the Outback with the inspiration of fellow free-spirit Cate Blanchett.

3 stars (Good Enough) Mid 1800's England, Oscar and Lucinda are two oddballs who meet on a ship with an instant attraction and form a romantic relationship based on trust. Nice adaptation of the book, with beautiful cinematography. ~GenXGirl
2 stars (Good Try) Great to look at and a talented cast but not for the first time have I found this film failing to hold the attention. ~Tubbs
