Aroview: A version of Georg Buchner's play, matching Herzog to another gloomy Germanic visionary, with Klaus Kinski as the soldier tormented by visions and sexual obsessions.
The bonus film on the tape, HEART OF GLASS, depicts the slow shattering of society in a German village after an important townsman's death. Eerily, most of the cast were acting under a hypnotic trance.

3 stars (Good Enough) An excellent script matched by Kinski's excellent portrayal is let down by the visuals, as with the exception of several amazing scenes, as in the majority of the film the camera is poorly utilized, and it feels more like a play than cinema. ~dr.strangelove
