Punitive Damage

Aroview: Emotive documentary about the ordeal of an ordinary New Zealand mother, Helen Todd, who ultimately sued an Indonesian general for punitive damages after her son was murdered in an army-rigged massacre in East Timor.

Film-maker Annie Goldson bolsters Todd's bravery and determination in calling into question the cowardice and complicity of neighbouring governments, and here delivers a resounding (and since effective) wake-up call for action.
