Mrs. Brown
Aroview: Finely accomplished drama about the passionate, if platonic, friendship between Queen Victoria and her loyal servant - a relationship that would become scandalous and even threaten the stability of the Crown.
Judi Dench was robbed of an Oscar for her perfectly judged performance, while Billy Connelly is equally adept in straight mode.

4 stars (Very Good) A unique, and deeply moving, friendship between two very unlike characters: Queen Victoria and her rugged Scotsman servant Mr. Brown. Although the film doesn't suggest an affair, it set tongues wagging at the time. Superb performance, beautiful location. ~GenXGirl
