State and Main
Aroview: When a harried film-crew descends upon the leafy streets of Waterford, Vermont to film a period drama, the worlds of apple-pie America and neurotic, cigar-chewing Hollywood collide.
Unleashing an array of comic types, expertly played by its cast, this is probably the best ‘filmmaking’ comedy since LIVING IN OBLIVION, with the ambitions of townsfolk and outsiders striking rib-tickling and often bizarre notes. Hats off again to writer/director Mamet!
