Enemy at the Gates
Aroview: A big-budget recreation of the crucial WWII battle of Stalingrad, in which Germans and Russians fought it out till there was a toll of over 1 million dead.
Narrowing the conflict down to a symbolic duel between ‘manufactured’ hero-snipers Jude Law and Ed Harris, allows for numerous subplots (involving Weisz, Fiennes and Hoskins) to parallel the suspenseful cat-and-mouse action scenes.

3 stars (Good Enough) A strangely rare film topic, sniping, takes the lead here, pitting two of WWII's best snipers against each other, with war raging between. Suspenseful and entertaining, if a little too Hollywood at times. ~Tom H
