Feat. Eduardo Noriega, Penelope Cruz, Chete Lera
Aroview: A surrealistic nightmare unfurled with Hitchcockian precision and irony, Eduardo Noriega plays a young-man-who-has-everything whose whirlwind affair and disfiguring car crash become strange chapters in a fate, identity and reality that has become bent out of recognizable shape. Rewarded for its dramatic and technical finesse with seven Goya Awards (Spanish Oscars), its gorgeously set-up and multi-layered even if it does get bogged down in the third act by its own high concept. The 25-year-old writer-director also contributes an evocative score. Remade in the US as VANILLA SKY.

4 stars (Very Good) Cesar tries to make sense of his life, after a car crash leaves his once handsome face grotesquely disfigured. Steamy, intriguingly complex psychological thriller, mixed with science fiction. ~GenXGirl
3 stars (Good Enough) ~JohnSpecialK
1 star (Turkey) Shallow unlikeable characters & silly plot based on movies like Groundhog Day & Beauty and the Beast. Beautiful actresses & lots of sex do not necessarily guarantee a good movie. But I usually agree with GenXGirl, so maybe I wasn't in the mood! ~Sandy
