Aroview: Continuing recent trends, this ‘updating’ of Shakespeare’s ”Othello” transfers the dialogue and setting into the US schoolyard, where Josh Hartnett seeks the disgrace of black basketball star Mekhi Phifer, by embroiling his girlfriend Julia Stiles. The jealousy, madness and manipulation still remain, but it’s difficult to accept these pretty young faces owning the tragic (and hardly youthful) dimensions of the Bard’s characters.
