Village of the Giants

Aroview: From the brainchild of Bert I. Gordon, an atomic monster and ‘giant’ movie specialist who did a lot of his own special effects, comes this gaudy revenge fantasy in which a gang of teenage rebels stomp their authority all over a small town when they happen to grow (three) times their natural size.

Empties its novelty bag before the finale but features a couple of great lurid dance sequences, one involving an elephantine duck and psychedelic band The Beau Brummels, plus there’s notable child performances of Ronny (Ron) Howard and Beau Bridges. Based loosely on H.G. Wells’ ‘Food of the Gods’.
