Monsoon Wedding
Aroview: Exotically charmed with a glamorous cast and a tremendous soundtrack, various members of an extended Indian family busy themselves with the mystery and wonder of love in the weeks leading up to an arranged marriage celebration.
If only mildly spicy in drama department, it’s a gregarious treat that also glimpses a hitherto unseen upper-middle class life in contemporary India, firmly caught between traditional values and Western (largely American) cultural influences.

4 stars (Very Good) An upper-class New Delhi family is overjoyed when a daughter accepts an arranged marriage with a successful Indian engineer. Set around the wedding, it follows a couple of tangents, and various romantic subplots. A beautifully rich colourful spectacle. ~GenXGirl
3 stars (Good Enough) The characters are a non-event and there is not much of a screenplay but there are some great street scenes, the beautiful wardrobe of the ladies, and wonderful singing and playing. ~Tubbs
