Time Out
Aroview: A subtly layered account of middle-class businessman Aurelien Recoing, who pretends to his family and friends that he is corporate highflyer, while really leading a strange non-existence driving around continental Europe.
Unable to overcome his existential demons, he eventually is drawn to contrive various con-games to keep the cashflow coming and a partnership with black marketeer Serge Livrozet, all the while masquerading as a consultant to the UN. A minimalist visual surface austerely conveys this impressively chilly comment on human obsolescence in modern society.
