Aroview: A dark themed and intricately plotted drama from dir. Bergman's later period, concerning a businessman who commits the sex-murder of a prostitute.

Teasingly portrays, using flashbacks and flash-forwards, how depression and the various pressures of life might possibly have led to the brutal act, the director fearlessly examining the monsters of the unconscious mind. Interestingly, several characters also appeared in the earlier SCENES FROM A MARRIAGE.

3 stars (Good Enough) Because we witness the crime early in the screenplay the suspense element isn't great but what follows e.g. the lead up to the crime and the aftermath is still interesting thanks to the craft of the filmmaker. ~Tubbs
