Heartworn Highways
Aroview: Cult documentary on country music's 'Outlaw Movement' of the 1970s, featuring key players like Townes Van Zandt, Guy Clark, Rodney Crowell, Steve Young and a very young Steve Earle.
Shot in 1975 and pieced together by the director over the next few years, this follows a suitably ramshackle feeling and structure. Highlights include the cracked humour of Gamble Rogers and David Allen Coe's bizarre prison concert, plus renditions of some now classic songs of this generation of singers.
DVD contains various extra songs from Van Zandt, Clark, Earle and John Hiatt.
