Aroview: Effective 'end of the world' thriller, where a scientifically-engineered contagion escapes the lab, turning most of Britain's populace into rabid, red-eyed maniacs.
Based broadly around the quest of a group of survivors to find sanctuary, this is often violent, yet retains the original touches and broad concerns of dir. Boyle's other films. Especially poignant are its images of an abandoned London. Shot on DV, the project benefits generally from a de-emphasising of empty spectacle in favour of the more direct and horrifying contingencies of human survival.

4 stars (Very Good) While not fresh on paper, this frenetic tale of a zombie-infested Britain can only be commended for its impressive scenes of abandoned and post-apocalyptic London streets. ~Tom H
2 stars (Good Try) The screenplay is uneven - it would have been better without the humans. ~Tubbs
