Such a Long Journey
Aroview: Set in the turbulent India of 1971, just prior to the war with Pakistan, this artfully fashioned drama centres on the political and personal crises of a Parsi office worker.
Adapted from the Booker-nominated novel by Rohinton Mistry, this successfully transposes its literary qualities, while accommodating a rich photographic texture and populist thrills. Roshan Seth is especially good in the lead role, coping with the illness of his daughter and rebellious son, and convincingly evolving towards a more humane understanding of the world around him.
