Lightning Over Water
Aroview: A disturbing portrait of Hollywood film director Nicholas Ray's final days, shot by fan and friend Wim Wenders.
Although he made some of the most memorable films of the 1940s and 50s (including REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE and JOHNNY GUITAR), Ray subsequently lapsed into a long struggle with alcoholism, drug addiction and finally, cancer. Shockingly emaciated, Ray here proves an engrossing camera subject himself - if painful to watch - as he continues to express his knowledge and love of cinema right till the end.
