“Pertinent New Zealand crime story executed with conviction and style.” ~AroVideo
Aroview: Deserving of a wider audience, this assured and well-focused NZ feature debut belies its limited budget with a pertinent crime story executed with conviction and style.
Braving subject matter close to the nerve of the heartland, this takes a real life (and infamous) New Zealand tragedy as inspiration for its story of a young woman who confronts the killer of her best friend on the brink of his release from prison, some eight years later. Exploring both perspectives in intelligent terms before ramping up the dramatic momentum, the central role demands a lot of newcomer Michelle Langstone, though she is well supported by a more experienced cast working in top form.
Soundtrack by Shayne Carter and Dimmer.
