Aroview: The BASIC INSTINCT team reprise with another sexploitation film that sent most critics in howls of derision.

Lack of plot and oversaturation of tits are perhaps compensated by technical prowess in set design cinematography, costumes, choreography and music. No more shameful to enjoy than an episode of "Melrose Place", its as glamourous and grotesque, as delirious and tedious as the city of Las Vegas itself.

4 stars (Very Good) It's funny how people were all over Verhoeven's use of tackiness as satire & subversion in his macho sci-fi action movies, but as soon as he turned to female-led movies like this and Basic Instinct it was taken at face value. ~Pearce
